Welcome!  I am excited for your interest in the Emergency Medicine Residency Program at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria (UICOMP) located at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center.  Our goal is to provide you with outstanding training, mentorship and support to ensure your future success as an emergency physician.  The OSF Saint Francis Emergency Department is a regional tertiary care, Level 1 Trauma Center that cares for over 85,000 annual patients.  The recently completed ED renovation has 57 patient treatment rooms and 18 observation beds in a modern design that facilitates patient care.  Life Flight, our hospital based helicopter EMS service (HEMS), is the busiest HEMS program in the State of Illinois with over 1700 annual flights.  OSF Saint Francis Medical Center is also home to the Children's Hospital of Illinois, the largest children's hospital between Chicago and St. Louis.

We are proud that our residents and faculty are a close-knit group both in and out of the hospital.  We maintain a friendly, people-oriented atmosphere that is conducive to learning.  In Peoria, we place a strong emphasis on teamwork and patient-centered care.  Our faculty are dedicated educators that provide outstanding resident focused education that is both fun and stimulating.  The recently opened JumpTrading Simulation and Education Center, provides a large state-of-the-art simulation center coordinated by world renowned simulation faculty.  We would love for you to see our innovative facilities and look forward to working with you as you enter the next phase of your medical career.
